Becoming a global citizen and coachee

My childhood dream has always been to travel and make the world my home. By the age of 33 I had managed to study and work on three different continents with stops in Europe, the US, Singapore and Shanghai. I had built an exceptional network of friends and colleagues that were soon spread all over the world. Even though I thought I had done everything right with each of these steps, I started doubting my path and that’s how coaching found me.

When I started my coaching journey in 2008, it was life changing. I took my first wobbly steps learning that I was not limited to my current thoughts, beliefs, or life circumstances. I began to understand and accept that I was responsible to make my own life choices and to change what did not serve me any longer. By taking the time to listen inside of myself rather than looking outside for answers, I realized what I needed to do to get back on course.

Following my inner compass

I turned the world financial crisis into an opportunity and took a sabbatical in 2010. My heart jumped! Listening to my inner compass, I felt drawn to nature and wide spaces. With two guidebooks in my backpack I set out to travel Alaska, British Columbia and Hawaii. I remember feeling full of life, adventurous and free.

Meanwhile, I actively pursued the training and investment in my own personal development. I looked at life circumstances from different angles, formed positive beliefs and built new routines. With a variety of unique lessons and experiences, I felt energized and motivated to take on new professional roles in New York City and on the West coast.

Claiming my spot as a coach

When the world shut down during Covid, life came to a sudden stop. Instead of focusing on restrictions, I embraced the opportunity to slow down, reflect and listen. With an open state of mind and invaluable coaching tools, I managed to navigate myself and others through these challenging times. I was inspired, ready and determined to become a life coach.

Martha Beck Harvard PhD in social sciences, renowned author and life coach, has fascinated me for a long time. I was attracted by her story of courage and integrity combined with her ability to listen, to ask spot on questions and to give undivided attention. I signed up for Martha’s “Wayfinder Life Coach Training” program and graduated in July 2021. An experience I will forever be grateful for and that will inspire and guide me as your coach.
